To combat the restrictions imposed by COVID, a takeaway pop-up offering was necessary — we constructed this using our construction waste from the main project. The pop-up has been so successful, the decision was made to retain it as a permanent feature, which you can enjoy now.
Presenting on a single project in these various roles is the ideal posturing to facilitate the most sustainable execution possible. Sustainable initiatives on this project included:
- All the timber used to manufacture the Joinery/Furniture package, (90 pp venue) was native Red Ironbark, which we salvaged from a building in West Melbourne, 6 kilometres away.
- Revival hired a fleet of e-bikes from Lug & Carrie for our site labour to use throughout the project.
-
Revival repurposed every demolished brick, straight back into our new structural engineering design. The bricks never left site through demolition and new construction.
- Implemented our work-experience program, offering hands-on experience for women emerging in our industry.
- The previous use of the building was the Keep Cup head office, we used items listed for demolition (from the Keep Cup fit-out) to construct all of our site hoarding. These same materials were then repurposed to construct the joinery we manufactured for the retail aspect of the pop-up takeaway offering.
To combat the restrictions imposed by COVID, a takeaway pop-up offering was necessary — we constructed this using our construction waste from the main project. The pop-up has been so successful, the decision was made to retain it as a permanent feature, which you can enjoy now.
